The cities

The Kornellhof is located between the two largest and most beautiful cities in South Tyrol: Bolzano and Merano. The city centers of both cities can be reached quickly and stress-free by train from Siebeneich. One of the things that you have to see in Bolzano is the city center with the Bozen arcades, the fruit market and Waltherplatz, but also the many small alleys and passages of the old town. A visit to the archaeological museum with the famous "Ötzi", the man in the ice, is just as much a part of a visit to the state capital as an aperitif in one of the numerous bars with their cozy outdoor areas.
The spa town of Merano with its medieval old town, the famous promenades and the famous Tappeinerweg invites you to visit. The course town owes its special, Mediterranean flair to its unique location, the greenery that lines the paths and streets, and the many private and public parks. Empress Sissi has already spent her vacation in the spa town of Merano.

Day trips

What should we do today? The warmest bathing lakes in South Tyrol, the Montiggler lakes and Lake Kaltern are barely half an hour's drive from the Kornellhof. The Dolomites with their numerous passes can even be seen just below the farm. Lake Garda can be reached in just under two hours by car. The gentle Renon, where the philosopher Sigmund Freud spent his summer vacation, can be reached from Bolzano with a modern cable car. The most beautiful high alpine pasture in Europe, the Seiseralm, should not be missed as well as numerous valleys in the area, which will surprise you with wild nature and a unique landscape.

Hiking

The most beautiful hike for us starts right behind the Kornellhof. Through the magnificent mixed forest, it goes up to the ruins of the legendary Greifenstein Castle, the "Sauschloss". Here there is not only absolute tranquility, but you also have a fabulous view of the entire Adige Valley with the Überetsch, Bolzano and the Dolomites. South Tyrol is a world-famous hiking area, so it is important between well-developed hiking destinations such as B. the hiking area Meran 2000 and the rose garden area or more remote destinations like the Schlern or Texel group over Meran with the famous Spronser lakes to decide. No matter what you choose: It will be a wonderful day of hiking in the great outdoors! We would be happy to provide you with suitable suggestions.

Relax at the Terme Merano

A particularly relaxing day awaits you if you visit the Merano thermal baths: With its 25 different pools, 15 of which are in the architecturally award-winning indoor area and 10 other pools in the huge thermal spa park, the Merano thermal baths invite you to swim and relax 365 days a year. Two large, comfortably heated pools, one of them with salt water, are also open in winter. There is also a wonderful sauna world with its large relaxation rooms.

The Botanical Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle

Over 80 garden landscapes nestle around Trauttmansdorff Castle near Merano and form the most beautiful botanical gardens in the Alps. Here, where Empress Sissi once resided, plants from all over the world now dominate, which feel particularly comfortable in the warm climate of the spa town of Merano. In between there are unique viewpoints, a sandy beach (!!) with palm trees, but also a large aviary, a garden for lovers and the water lily pond, where concerts and relaxed, long summer evenings are held, to name just a few highlights of these fantastic gardens.
